Toxicology is the study of the effects of industrial and pharmaceutical agents on living things (animals, fish, and humans). Currently, we have nearly 25 toxicologists on staff, seven of whom are board-certified toxicologists with doctorate degrees. Our professionals are routinely invited to sit on government expert panels to help assess the health hazards posed by various chemicals, and to identify gaps in the science regarding a particular chemical. Many are often asked to perform peer reviews for well-respected scientific journals.
Members of our staff are nationally recognized experts on chromium, asbestos, radionuclides, dioxins, brominated flame retardants, benzene, popcorn flavorings (diacetyl), formaldehyde, chlorinated solvents, certain metals, nanoparticles, silica, and beryllium. Our team has presented nearly 200 papers at scientific meetings and more than 100 peer reviewed manuscripts on these chemicals alone. We routinely conduct both large and small toxicology studies involving the full range of standard animal models.
