With several health physicists on staff, ChemRisk® has broad experience dealing with radionuclides in a number of workplace and environmental settings. For the past 20 years, we have been the premier contractor in the U.S for characterizing former nuclear weapons complex sites. Most of these locations housed federally funded programs, such as the Rocky Flats, Oak Ridge, and Los Alamos sites.
We have also been closely involved with the Energy Employees Occupational Illness and Compensation Act (EEOICPA), in which we developed technical basis documents for several of the nation’s weapons facilities to allow calculated individual doses received by workers at those facilities working in or around these facilities. We are currently undertaking the Los Alamos Historical Document Retrieval and Assessment (LAHDRA) project, which involves prioritizing chemical and radiological off-site releases from Los Alamos National Laboratory.
