Environmental Risk Assessment

For more than 20 years, ChemRisk® has contributed pioneering studies to the field of environmental risk assessment. We have studied nearly half of the most important contaminated waterways in America, including the Passaic, Tittabawassee, Hudson, Hackensack, Columbia, Penobscot, Rogue, Clinch, Cuyahoga, Spring, and Mississippi Rivers, as well as Homebush Bay (Sydney Harbor, Australia), and many others in the United States and abroad.Often, our work involves assessing the possible human health risks associated with eating fish or other aquatic species. In many cases, these species have been contaminated by recent liquid chemical discharges, or, more often, by persistent organic pollutants (POPs) or heavy metals found within sediments that may have been contaminated as long ago as 40-100 years. We also have the capability of evaluating any hazards facing various aquatic species.
