Dimethylformamide (DMF) is a commonly used solvent in both laboratory and industrial settings. It has been used in the manufacture of plastics, synthetic leathers, thin films, pesticides, and dyes. It is a known upper respiratory irritant, and researchers have noted a possible relationship between high levels of DMF and liver disease. We have significant experience with this chemical and, indeed, its unique effects on the skin (degreasers flush) which is associated with exposure and the intake of alcohol was first reported by our firm.
