The issue of occupational lung disease in popcorn and flavorings workers is one that has attracted much attention since 2003 and it continues to be an emerging area of concern in pulmonary and occupational medicine. Scientists and physicians within the firm have studied workers in a variety of occupational settings regarding this poorly understood disease entity, and are actively involved in research to help determine a possible mechanism for the respiratory effects thought to arise as a result of exposures to butter flavoring. In addition, our staff has been identified as expert witnesses in the fields of toxicology, clinical medicine, industrial hygiene, epidemiology and public health regarding this chemical.
